Club Vice President Public Relations Contest
District 4 is looking for the top Vice President Public Relations in the district for each half of the Toastmasters Years (July 1 – December 31 and January 1 – June 30).
The Contest

The intent of the contest is to promote effective
leadership for each Club Vice President Public Relations
(VPPR). |

The first year half contest begins on July 1 and ends on
December 31. |
| • |
The second year half contest begins on January 1 and ends on June 30.

| • |
Both contests are open to all District 4 Club VPPRs
who hold office during the contest.
|
| • |
Each VPPR contestant must successfully complete
at least seven of the items listed below during the current contest period.
|
| • |
Each item successfully completed earns one point,
unless otherwise stated.
|
| • |
If two or more VPPRs tie for first place, then each will
be the winner.
|
| • |
The winners will receive a plaque in
recognition of their achievement at the Hall of Fame during
Fall and Spring Conferences in May and November, respectively.

The winners will also have
the opportunity to write or contribute to an article
for the District 4 newsletter, The Fourcaster
describing their VPPR term and accomplishments. Promote yourself and your Club!

Contest items for judging the VPPR entries
|
| 1. |
Attend scheduled District-sponsored VPPR Club Officer training during the contest period.
|
| 2. |
Publish at least three issues of your Club Newsletter,
during the contest period, which meet the Golden Quill contest criteria.
|
| 3. |
Organize your Club's participation in a community activity. Examples: A booth at a street fair or a
visit to a local hospital.
|
| 4. |
Submit a press release about your Club and about Toastmasters to your local newspaper.
|
| 5. |
Contact six people from the District 4 Hotline and
invite them to visit your Club meeting. You will earn one point for each Hotline person who attends
your Club meeting. (If they join your Club, then you will earn an additional point in #6 below.)

| 6. |
Submit an announcement of Toastmasters meetings in your community or company newsletter or Bulletin
Board or e-mail for three months, through which at least one new member will join your Club. You will
earn one point for each new member (not reinstated) who joins your Club.

| 7. |
Submit a public service announcement about Toastmasters to a local radio or television station.
|
| 8. |
Distribute copies of The Toastmaster magazine for three months to waiting rooms of local
businesses, doctor or dentist offices, health clubs, libraries, community colleges or hospitals.
|
| 9. |
Display a Toastmasters bumper sticker or license plate frame on your car, motorcycle or bicycle.
|
| 10. |
Attend your Club's Executive Committee meetings. You will earn one point for each meeting that you
attend.
|
| 11. |
Attend at least one Area or Division Council meeting in your Area or Division. You will earn one point
for each meeting that you attend.
|
| 12. |
Post Toastmasters flyers around your community or company. (Club officer training for VPPR can offer
suggestions.)
|
| 13. |
Get a Toastmasters International Highway Sign - TI catalog #363 or 363-A - for your community. If
your community already has a sign, then promote it at least locally. (See the The Fourcaster Summer 2003
for details.) For example: Photograph local Toastmasters by the sign, and publish the photo locally.

| 14. |
Devise or promote a celebration and award ceremony - pin, certificate, ribbon, etc. - for each of your
Club members who achieves a noteworthy goal. Examples: Ice Breaker speech; CTM, ATM, CL, AL DTM winners; Club Toastmaster of the month; Club member who has the most guests.
|
| 15. |
Promote your Club's Evaluation and Humorous Speech contests to your community or company.
|
| 16. |
Attend your Area's Speech Contest and write an article about it for your Club newsletter.
|
| 17. |
Attend your Division's Speech Contests and write an article about it for your Club newsletter.
|
| 18. |
Attend the District 4 Conference, and write an article about it for your Club newsletter. Note:
You are also welcome to submit the articles to The Fourcaster.

| 19. |
Send your Club Officer list to your local Chamber of Commerce.
|
| 20. |
Do something else that is useful and is related to Toastmasters International public relations.
|
| 21. |
By June 30 or December 31 submit your Club and Officer Information for the current term to Toastmasters International.
|
|
