Distinguished District Program
Just as the Distinguished Club Program recognizes clubs that meet educational and membership goals, the Distinguished District Program recognizes districts that meet educational and membership goals. At their core, both programs are designed to ensure that a member’s needs are being met and that a club is conducting quality meetings. How well a member’s needs are met through the educational program and the quality of a club meeting determines whether people join and stay in Toastmasters.

As part of the Distinguished District Program, each district develops a success plan that focuses on fulfilling the Mission of the District.

Mission of the District
To enhance the performance and extend the network of Clubs, thereby offering greater numbers of people the opportunity to benefit from the Toastmasters educational program, by:
  • Focusing on the critical success factors as specified by the District educational and membership goals.
  • Insuring that each Club effectively fulfills its responsibilities to its individual members.
  • Providing effective training and leadership development opportunities for Club and District Officers.

Critical Success Factors
A district's success is measured by four critical success factors - CC's, AC's, membership and clubs. District 4's educational and membership goals for June 30, 2007 include

310 Competent Communicator Awards
Our CC goal is based on 3.5% of the membership payments made as of June 30, 2006 which were 8,8621. 8,862 x .035 = 310.17

88 Advanced Communicator Awards
Our AC goal is based on 1% of the membership payments made last year. 8,862 x .01 = 88.62 (round down)

9,039 Membership Payments
Our membership growth goal is based on a 2% increase in the membership payments made last year. 8,862 x 1.02 = 9,039.24

201 Clubs
Our club growth goal is based on a 3% increase in the number of clubs that had paid dues as of June 30, 2006 which were 196. 196 x 1.03 = 201.88 (again, round down)

1District 4 does not have 8,862 members. Membership payments are made twice a year (October and April) and new members that join before October make an additional prorated payment.
