Leadership Track
The Leadership Track offers a method of tracking the
development of your leadership skills as you participate
in certain activities in the Toastmasters program. More

As part of the Leadership Track, members earn recognition
for their achievements by advancing through the ranks
of Competent Leader (CL) and Advanced Leader (AL).
After completing the requirements for Advanced Leader Silver (AL-S), a Toastmaster
may also earn the rank of Distinguished Toastmaster
(DTM) if that member also has Advanced Communicator Gold (AC-G) certification.

Competent Leader (CL)
To earn the rank of Competent Leader, a member must have completed the 10 projects in
the Competent Leadership manual. (Or, for members who had already
started earning the CL award with the set of requirements that it had before July 1, 2006,
Toastmasters International will continue to issue Competent Leader awards under
those previous requirements through June 30, 2008.)
Advanced Leader Bronze (AL-B)
To earn the rank of Advanced Leader Bronze (which has the same requirements
as the CL award that was in place before July 1, 2006) a member must
meet the following requirements:
Advanced Leader Silver (AL-S)
To earn the rank of Advanced Leader Silver (which has the same requirements
as the AL award that was in place before July 1, 2006) a member must
meet the following requirements:
- Completed AL-B certification.
- Served one full term as a district officer.
- Completed the High Performance Leadership program.
- Served as a Club Sponsor, Club Mentor, or Club Coach (formerly, Club Specialist).
Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM)
After a member has completed the Leadership Track and
earned the rank of AL-S, that member is eligible to receive
the rank of Distinguished Toastmaster (the highest rank
in Toastmasters).
To earn the rank of Distinguished Toastmaster,
a member must meet the following requirements:
